Trombone

The trombone is the only brass instrument that finds its notes steplessly with the slide — hence the glissando no other can do. It needs air and arm length; for smaller children there are instruments with a valve so the slide stays within reach. The trombone is equally at home in wind music and in jazz. Three teachers give trombone lessons; in the Bläserbande and the junior wind orchestra it plays from the start.
