Sunmuk Kim, born in Seoul, South Korea in 1998, began playing the piano at the age of 13. After graduating from the Kaywon High School of Art he moved to Germany in 2019 to deepen his musical training. In the course of his artistic development he took part in numerous international masterclasses, continually broadening his musical and interpretative abilities. He completed his bachelor’s degree with top marks at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen with Prof. Ingo Dannhorn, specialising in piano performance and music education, and is currently continuing his master’s studies there.
Alongside his work as a pianist, Kim teaches at the music school in St. Georgen in the Black Forest, where he devotes himself with great commitment to training and specifically encouraging talented young pianists. Besides his solo work, chamber music is a particular passion. His artistic profile is distinguished above all by musical sensitivity, finely differentiated shaping of sound and authentic expressive power.
