After several teaching and performance qualifications in Trossingen and Paris, he has taught guitar at the Jugendmusikschule St. Georgen-Furtwangen since 1986. He began teaching at the age of sixteen and has since been able to accompany a great number of musicians aged from five to eighty through many years of their development, which he counts among the finest aspects of his profession. His pupils have taken first prizes in the most important youth competitions in Germany, France, the Czech Republic and Italy; many are now successful teachers themselves or perform internationally. His experience and expertise are valued on many panels and at many competitions, and since 2004 he has repeatedly been a member of the national jury of „Jugend musiziert“.
